Michael Chapin MS, MEd, has over 9-years of experience as a career services professional working as an Assistant Director of Engineering Career Services and a Career Development Counselor at Washington University in St. Louis. Michael mainly counsels all levels of students and alumni in their career development needs, while supporting employer and business development activities. He also manages key student programs such as the engineering mentor program, strengths-based advising, leadership initiatives, and partners with athletic programs in career advisement. Michael was the recipient of the "Advisor of the Year" award given by the engineering student council in 2006 for his work in the School of Engineering. Prior to coming to Washington University, Michael served over 9-years as an HR generalist mostly in the roles of HR Manager and HR Regional Manager for two Fortune 500 companies, Michael has worked extensively in the areas of Training, Organizational Development, Employee Relations, Safety, and Recruitment for facilities in the United States and throughout the world. Michael earned his B.A. in Business from SUNY Cortland, an M.S. in Managerial Systems and Human Resources Management from Clarkson University and recently completed a second Masters degree in Career Counseling from University of Missouri in St. Louis. He is an active member of the National Career Development Association (7-years), National Association of Colleges and Employers (9-years), and the Gateway Career Services Association (8-years) where he is currently serving on the executive board as President.
